Heat pump enquiries that are not sold to five installers
People really do search for ways to buy heat pump leads, and that says it all: many installers buy contacts. Here is what they actually buy, and the alternative.
A bought lead is often a shared lead
A homeowner fills in a form on a comparison site. The enquiry goes to several installers, who all call within the hour. The first to get through has a chance, the others pay for a contact who has already chosen.
The listed price of the lead is low. The cost per signed job is not, because you sign a small share of what you pay for.
What a campaign in your own name changes
The person has seen your ad, your company, sometimes your face. When you call back you are not the fourth call of the evening, you are the one they wrote to.
The contact costs more per unit. It signs more often. It is the cost per job that must be compared, never the price of the contact.
Qualify before the technical visit
A wasted technical visit is half a day lost. Three questions are often enough:
- →Current heating: oil, gas, electric
- →Floor area and age of the house, roughly
- →Owner-occupier or not, which affects part of the subsidies
The season matters
Enquiries climb when it starts getting cold and when the bill arrives. Being in place beforehand, with creatives already tested, costs less than arriving at the same time as everyone else.
